The Conference

Coyote Brings the Food

Healing the Land, While Healing From the Land

From March 11 to 12 Knowledge Makers Journal program hosted a conference centered around the 16 Indigenous women authors of the eighth publication volume.

For this conference, I was the lead communications officer representing the Knowledge Makers program while collaborating with the UNFAO, TRU World, and TRU Marcom. This included the development of the conference brand, digital media, and print media for the conference.

Instagram

I developed a content calendar to ensure effective communication during the month leading up to the conference. Through this we were able to leverage our account interactions, doubling our following and providing valuable information for conference attendees.

Digital

TV Images and
Stage Backgrounds

TV images were used on conference center and TRU campus screens, including a the image titled “Main Coyote Brings the Food” on CFJC Midday, after approvals from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, TRU MARCOM, TRU World, and the All My Relations Indigenous Research Center.

Stage backgrounds were changed during Idays/the conference opening and speeches, with the conference logo background used for subsequent events, maintaining a consistent and professional visual theme.

Author Bio’s Booklet

Due to publication constraints and lengthy print binding processes, the final journal was not ready for the conference. To ensure attendees could view the papers I took the initiative to pitch, design, and produce a booklet.

This booklet includes bios of each woman and a QR code linking to a PDF download of their paper, offering a convenient and accessible solution for conference participants.

A concise one-page schedule providing time, location, and event name information. To ensure full schedule information is accessible a QR code to our webpage, and information about our social media accounts were added.

Tabletop sign designs were simple, featuring limited information while utilizing brand fonts and colours. The remaining signs are prompts designed to encourage attendees to partake in creating a collaborative poster.
